t's been happening so slowly
that the people getting rich by degrading the environment had plenty of time to argue that
it wasn't happening. Then they had plenty of time to argue that they weren't
responsible. Now they're trying to argue that it's no big deal. You know, we need
the jobs, and the bible says the world will end anyway....
Yeah.
Let's just lay down, say our prayers, and kiss our asses goodbye.
Not
me, buddy. I'm sure there are plenty of people like me who, when the time comes,
won't be satisfied to "swim out past the breakers and watch the world die," as
the song says. I'll be looking for some last minute justice, like seeing the look on
George Bush's face when his head boils.
| Now it's just a matter of
how bad it will be. |
In
the mean time, we do what we can to not leave our kids with a wasteland. We reduce,
reuse, and recycle. We make our home as much like an eco-home as we can. We actively support the legalization of the
industrial production of hemp and organic agriculture.
Before
you write me to argue
about this, think about one thing. Why would we even want to risk screwing up such a
nice place?

Hemp improves the poor soil it grows in, using less water, and
can be used for paper, clothing, fuel, resins, food, and plenty more! We have a
list of common uses for hemp, as well as books about hemp so you can learn more.

Eco-Home Network, Los Angeles, is an
organization of people interested in ecological demonstration homes and systems that can
reduce your impact on the planet.

Permaculture helps the planet
by producing food and natural textiles without the use of chemicals. Since the
production and use of chemicals is one of the biggest causes of environmental degredation,
not using them obviously makes a huge difference. You can help by buying organic
foods, organically produced clothing, and natural health and beauty care products.
Facts are Facts
The
following average global temperature graph
and quote are from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which was started by
Nixon:
Global temperatures are
rising. Observations collected over the last century suggest that the average land surface
temperature has risen 0.45-0.6°C (0.8-1.0°F) in the last century. The surface of the
ocean has also been warming at a similar rate. Studies that combine land and sea
measurements have generally estimated that global temperatures have warmed 0.3-0.6°C
(0.5-1.0°F) in the last century. About two-thirds of this warming took place between the
turn of the century and 1940. Global temperatures declined slightly from the 1940s through
the 1970s; but have risen more rapidly during the last 25 years than in the period before
1940.
That quote was from the Clinton EPA. If you want to hear the BS
coming from the Bushies about global warming, click

warming.
